The signature menu of the Korean variety show ‘Unexpected Business’, ‘Daege Ramen’ (Crab Ramen) created by actor Jo In-sung, has been released as instant ramen. The recently concluded Korean variety show ‘Unexpected Business 3’ was filmed in Marina, California. The Asian market and the restaurant where the actors directly prepared and sold food became a hot topic. Among them, the most popular was ‘Daege Ramen’, a menu that has been featured since season 1 of ‘Unexpected Business’. It’s a simple recipe of adding crab to ramen, but it received rave reviews from customers. Many customers in the US enjoyed it, fueling curiosity about its taste.

Finally, Daege Ramen has been commercialized as both a bag and cup ramen and is now available for purchase. Since it’s an instant ramen, it doesn’t contain actual crab like the original Daege Ramen, but it is said that the flavor of the original Daege Ramen was recreated to the best possible extent through the use of soup and flavored oil.

Since ‘Unexpected Business’ Season 3 took place in the US, many foreigners who were not accustomed to spicy food visited the restaurant. Jo In-sung added an egg to neutralize the spiciness for foreigners and children who couldn’t handle spicy food. If you’re curious about Daege Ramen but are sensitive to spice, adding an egg might be a good solution. Currently, the bag ramen is sold at E-mart, and the cup ramen is sold at GS25.

Compared to the past, the age at which children are exposed to instant food and fast food is getting lower and lower. From children in dual-income families who don’t get to eat proper home-cooked meals and rely on ramen for sustenance to children who are exposed to instant food, fast food, and delivery food due to the lowered age of access to YouTube and various short-form videos, with their unbalanced nutrients. It may already be too late to reverse children’s palates that are becoming increasingly stimulated. That’s why children’s ramen has recently been released. It’s ‘Foodie Buddy Ramen’ from Harim.

It’s made for children’s portions, so it has a smaller volume and fewer calories than regular ramen. Looking at the nutritional information, the sodium content is 1,080mg, which is nearly 600mg less than regular ramen, and it uses dried noodles to minimize the burden. Also, as you can see in the picture above, it has panda-shaped fish cakes as toppings to suit children’s preferences. It comes in two varieties: red ramen and white ramen. Red ramen isn’t extremely spicy. White ramen uses only beef bone broth for the soup, making it perfect for very young children who can’t handle any spice. White ramen also uses dried noodles and has 1,050mg of sodium, less than red ramen. Even if you’re not a child, this ramen is recommended for those who want to eat ramen without feeling burdened while dieting or for foreigners who are sensitive to spicy food.

3. Paldo Rabokki (Ramen Tteokbokki)

Paldo

Paldo

‘Rabokki’, a menu that combines Korea’s representative foods, ramen and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). Its sweet and spicy flavor is addictive. There is an instant ramen that allows you to enjoy the taste of rabokki even without tteokbokki. This ramen, released by Paldo, comes with two types of soup: powder soup and liquid soup. They create a rich rabokki flavor. The ramen company also wrote recipes on the outside of the package to make rabokki even more delicious. They recommend adding 1 boiled egg, cabbage, scallions, onions, half a fish cake, and 2 tteokbokki rice cakes and cooking them together. If you make it this way, the quality might be so high that you wouldn’t think it’s an instant food. This ramen is recommended for those who want to enjoy rabokki easily.
