“What if your daughter suddenly turns into a chicken nugget?”

Netflix’s original series “Chicken Nugget” is generating buzz even before its release with its refreshingly unique premise: a person transforming into a chicken nugget – a scenario that seems like something out of a dream. Choi Min-a, the daughter of Choi Sun-man, the president of a company called ‘Modeongi,’ discovers a purple cabinet and out of curiosity, enters it, only to find herself transformed into a chicken nugget. Go Baek-jung, an intern who has a crush on Choi Min-a, joins forces with President Choi Sun-man to try and restore Choi Min-a back to her original form.

The Netflix original series “Chicken Nugget”, a blend of fantasy and comedy, is based on a webtoon of the same name. As the original webtoon also won an award in a contest, original fans are anticipating that the drama will follow the original’s completeness and be a good one. The recently released official trailer has sparked a significant surge in anticipation, successfully mitigating initial concerns about the potentially overly fantastical premise.

Unlike Korean dramas of the past that stuck to predictable, formulaic storylines, contemporary Korean dramas are captivating the world with their diverse narratives and unique universes. With the rise of streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+, dramas are no longer limited to television broadcasts, allowing for broader and more imaginative storytelling. Netflix’s original series “Chicken Nugget” is a perfect example of this. From the moment the production of a drama with the premise of a person turning into a chicken nugget was rumored, the Netflix series “Chicken Nugget” has been the talk of the town. Director Lee Byeong-heon, who helmed the box-office hit “Extreme Job” (16.26 million viewers), is directing and writing the screenplay, leading many to anticipate his trademark comedic style. Actors Ryu Seung-ryong and Ahn Jae-hong, who previously collaborated in “Extreme Job” and “Be Melodramatic” respectively, are set to star, adding another layer of anticipation due to their established chemistry with the director.

Will the daughter, transformed into a chicken nugget, be able to revert to her human form? The answer will be unveiled on March 15th on Netflix.
