"Little Women," a Korean drama inspired by the 19th-century novel of the same name, is a mystery drama featuring three sisters.

"Oh In-joo," the eldest daughter of a poor family, works as an accountant at a construction company after graduating from college. She is bullied by others at work because of her poverty, but she is friends with "Jin Hwa-young," who also works as an accountant. Oh In-joo often follows Jin Hwa-young around and pretends to be rich, envious of her friend's expensive clothes and bags. One day, Oh In-joo goes to Jin Hwa-young's house to find her after she can't get in touch with her, and discovers her dead in the closet, apparently having taken her own life. She then learns that Jin Hwa-young had secretly embezzled about 700 billion won, and after attending her funeral, Oh In-joo checks the messages Jin Hwa-young left her. When Jin Hwa-young says she transferred her membership to a high-end fitness club, Oh In-joo heads there and finds 2 billion won in the locker Jin Hwa-young used.

"Oh In-kyung," the second daughter, was good at her studies. She dreamed that if she studied hard and got into a good university, she would be successful, even though she grew up poor. However, as she got older, she realized that even if she was good at studying, it would be difficult to become rich without financial support from her family. She wanted to be able to speak out boldly even in front of powerful and wealthy people, so she became a reporter. While investigating corruption related to a certain savings bank, Oh In-kyung realizes that a lawyer named "Park Jae-sang" had been involved in the cases of people who had died one after another.

"Oh In-hye," the youngest, is talented at art and is a student at Korea's top art high school. Although art is expensive, her sisters support her in every way, hoping that she won't have to live the same way they did. Oh In-hye feels uncomfortable because she knows how much her sisters are sacrificing for her. On Oh In-hye's birthday, her sisters collect 2.5 million won for her expensive school trip, but their mother secretly takes the money and leaves for the Philippines. When they go to find Oh In-hye to give her the money for the school trip again, they see her hanging out with a wealthy family. It is the family of Park Jae-sang, the man Oh In-kyung is investigating. Oh In-hye has been secretly teaching the daughter of Park Jae-sang to paint.

This drama, which uses money as a symbol of capitalism, was written by Jung Seo-kyung. Jung Seo-kyung is a well-known writer who co-wrote the screenplays for "Lady Vengeance," "Thirst," "The Handmaiden," and "Decision to Leave" with director Park Chan-wook. Perhaps because of this, the drama has a cinematic feel unlike other Korean dramas. Furthermore, the spatial setting is similar to that of "Decision to Leave." The same art director was in charge of the drama.
