The Korean drama "Death’s Game (이재, 곧 죽습니다)" depicts the 12 lives of the protagonist, Choi I-jae, after his death. Choi I-jae witnesses a traffic accident by chance on the day of his interview for a large corporation. The shock of the accident causes him to fail the interview, leading to 7 years of unsuccessful job hunting and a difficult life. Choi I-jae receives news that he lost the money he had invested with a friend, and to make matters worse, he breaks up with his girlfriend. Furthermore, he is evicted from the house where he was living due to his inability to pay the rent. Choi I-jae believes that the only way to end his string of misfortunes is suicide, and he takes his own life.

A mysterious entity called 'Death' tells him that he will live 12 new lives in the bodies of 12 people who are about to die. If he manages to avoid death, he can continue living in that body.
